RE: Investments & Upgrades, 2024
I started a practice a few years ago, inspired by a suggestion from entrepreneur, hairstylist-to-the-stars, Internet goddess and VG O.G., Jen Atkin. On New Year’s Day, my husband and I sit in our pajamas (or our swimsuits, if we’re lucky enough to be OOO somewhere sunny), with pen and paper in hand, and we write down a straightforward list for the year ahead of what we would do if there were no way to fail.
These aren't resolutions, wishes, or best intentions. We look at them as To Dos. Notes to self. A set of directives for the life upgrades we seek to make. A checklist of what we mean to accomplish in the next 365 days. Some are tiny, practical, material; others are huge, intimidating, and existential. Operating as if there is no way to fail allows one to be brave, audacious, and to go after exactly what you want, without limitation--imagining (or rather, expecting) that it will be achieved. It's a very fast way to get priorities clear, sh*t together. These are commitments I make to myself.
